Where Innovation
Meets Empathy
VESTA is more than an app.
It is a trauma-informed digital ecosystem designed to keep survivors connected, supported, and safe before, during, and after a crisis.

The VESTA Model

We design digital tools with and for survivors. By combining secure platforms, expert content, and human support, we create safer, more empowering pathways for people impacted by gender-based violence.

Since 2019, we have worked with frontline organizations, police services, and academic partners to pilot and scale our tools across Canada.

Forty-five percent of survivors using the platform chose to report to police, compared to Canada’s national average of six percent.

The Real-World Context

Survivors face complex barriers

Many survivors are navigating trauma while also dealing with digital insecurity, isolation, and systemic discrimination. For newcomers, undocumented women, and racialized groups, trust in institutions may already be broken.

Frontline Agencies Are Stretched

Organizations doing critical work often lack the digital infrastructure to stay connected with survivors outside of appointments.

The System Can Retraumatize

Too often, survivors encounter cold processes instead of care. Justice is defined by procedure, not healing. For many, especially from marginalized communities, that process is isolating and inaccessible.

The Role of Technology

The existing tools in this space were not built with trauma, privacy, or survivor experience in mind.

VESTA fills this gap by providing:

A secure, multilingual, survivor-controlled platform

A consistent digital access point that never compromises safety

The option to remain anonymous while still receiving support

Human navigator integration for cultural and community-specific guidance

Data insights that inform policy, funding, and service improvements

Think of VESTA as a digital recovery companion. A trusted space that meets survivors where they are, on their terms.

Partnership Not Replacement

We complement not replace the incredible work of agencies and frontline teams.
